Two Engineers Create an Underwater Jetpack to 'Fly Through Water'
Matthew Loffhagen
Sometimes, great discoveries don't take lots of research, experimentation, and effort. Gluing together a few commonplace (or not so commonplace) pieces of equipment can occasionally create a new technological wonders. This free and easy approach to engineering is certainly at play with the two engineers who make up the YouTube channel Eclectical Engineering.
In a video citing the fictional genius billionaire playboy philanthropist Tony Stark as an inspiration, Ryan Kung and David Shulman explain their desire to make a version of Iron Man's jet propulsion system for themselves. Except, their jets will be used underwater, because that's much easier (and safer) than designing and testing a jet suit that can actually fly.
